We had our 24 week doctor appointment on Tuesday (Tuesday, November 11th) and my measurements were taken during that visit. My doctor measured from my pubic bone to the top of my belly and I was measuring at 24 centimeters. He explained that at this point, it is expected that the amount of centimeters should coincide fairly closely with the amount of weeks pregnant, so I was right on track. We heard our baby's heartbeat again which is always so good to hear. The sound of reassurance. I also received my very first flu shot since it was recommended I get it. I've had a good track record of avoiding illness for some time now (knock, knock, knock...on wood), so I've been a skeptic when it comes to the flu shot for me in particular. Thus, if I get sick this season, something's fishy and it'll be the last of the flu shots (until it's recommended again, I suppose).
I was shocked when I hopped on the scale and the gal told me I weighed the same as my last visit. Huh? How I haven't gained any weight in the last four weeks is beyond me, but I'll take it! Thank goodness I took off my coat and shoes. Does anyone really think that makes a difference? I must since I do it every time and if a naked woman in the hallway didn't scream privacy law violation, I can only imagine what else I'd take off if they'd let me. (Come on, no woman wants credit for more pounds than are due, so you know you feel me on that.) I know not to enjoy it for long with the baby growing more rapidly and with the holidays right around the corner. If I could bathe in mashed potatoes, I would. Throw in some gravy, stuffing, a couple pounds of pickles and olives, several dinner rolls, pumpkin and pecan pies and what reason could I possibly have for getting out of the tub? Ah, yes...Christmas. Eating for two never sounded so good.

I do the exact same thing when getting weighed at the doctor! Its like, what else can I unload? I got my fist flu shot this year too, Jeremy opted out (even though the doctor recommended it). Man up! I'm so excited for you. With all that eating you plan on doing, maybe you could get a side job as Santa this year! xoxo
